Most often this means social distancing, frequent cleaning, and hand sanitizer on tap.
However, in Medellin, Colombia, a grown-up webcam company has taken it a step further by providing its cam girls with plastic capsules to work inside.
These provide everything the women need to get their job done. a laptop, a bed or a carriage and of course a web camera, with every room and equipment being cleaned and disinfected after use.
The women also receive a temperature check upon entry.
Colombia, currently in national lockdown until at least August 30th, has hit its property market hard in recent months.
But it seems that the pandemic problems of one industry are the benefit of another – as this has enabled CamSoda to convert an otherwise empty warehouse into a makeshift office for its workers.
While security is the primary concern, the unusual plastic spaces have a secondary benefit – privacy.
Some of the women live with family and friends, which can be difficult when doing sexual work.
After all, it can get pretty loud.
“The quarantine over the past few months has been incredibly difficult for all of us,” said Daryn Parker, vice president of CamSoda.
“And for many of our models, it was particularly difficult to find a place for a camera.
‘The traffic to adult cam sites has grown dramatically and there is a huge influx of new models looking for ways to make money while staying socially aloof.
“These models, both veterans and newcomers, have children, spouses, parents and roommates who are now at home 24/7 and it has become almost impossible for them to stream privately without a break.”
However, if the photos published by CamSoda are any indication, the women can still see each other as the plastic is clear and there is no cover.
