Bello pays N100m nomination fee and chooses APC forms on Wednesday

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Tuesday paid N100 million to purchase the forms to contest the 2023 presidency under the All Progressives Congress platform.

The payment, according to the Director (Media and Publicity), Yahaya Bello Presidential Campaign Council, Yemi Kolapo, had made him the first to officially seal his aspiration to serve as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023.

Along with the payment, Kolapo said the governor would pick his expression of interest and nomination forms on Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

She recalled that thousands of Nigerians from all walks of life stormed Eagle Square in the nation’s capital on Saturday, April 2, 2022, to witness the formal acceptance of Governor Bello to run for the presidency of 2023.

The declaration venue was packed to the brim as an almost equal crowd was seen outside the venue, with many support groups dressed in different distinct outfits, chanting songs of solidarity.

Kolapo said: “With the payment of the forms, Governor Bello’s many supporters should be assured that he will be on the ballot in the 2023 presidential race. We are very encouraged by the number of governors, leaders and of APC stakeholders who have demonstrated their strong support for our principal’s candidacy.

“We reiterate that he is not known for his betrayal. He is always very loyal to his people and his priorities have always been Nigeria, Nigeria and Nigeria.

“Although the race officially begins now, it is common knowledge that Governor Bello has always been at the forefront of the contest. He demonstrated this again by being the first to pay for the forms.

“We urge delegates and indeed all Nigerians to avoid divisive narratives in the interest of the nation and to choose the best of the lot. We have no doubt that the members of our National Working Committee, tested and worthy of trust, will put the interests of the party and that of Nigeria at the forefront in their activities around the process that will bring out the next standard bearer of the APC.

According to her, the past few months have witnessed persistent calls from different youth, women and professional groups across Nigeria for the Governor of Kogi State to run for the post of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. .
